The Genius Mom Project: Empowering Women, Preserving Heritage
Launched in 2019, The Genius Mom (known as “天才妈妈” in Chinese) is a nonprofit initiative that aims to empower women in rural areas, help preserve traditional crafts, and contribute to the country's poverty alleviation and rural revitalization strategies. This project is a continuation of over a decade of work by the China Women’s Development Foundation (CWDF) to combine women's poverty alleviation efforts with the preservation of intangible cultural heritage.
By nurturing and developing creative leaders in traditional arts, The Genius Mom project provides vital support to female artisans from impoverished and remote areas, creating opportunities for them to thrive and transform their communities. Through partnerships with embroidery workshops and women’s creative cultural projects, the initiative is helping women unlock their potential, while preserving the rich traditions of Chinese craftsmanship.
How SinoCultural Supports the "Genius Mom" Project
As part of our Women’s Day celebration, SinoCultural is proudly donating 1% of all sales from our bags and scarves to support The Genius Mom project. This donation will directly benefit low-income female artisans, providing them with resources, training, and opportunities to improve their craft and their lives.
