2-Piece Chinoiserie Placemat Waterproof Heat Resistant Blue Table Mat

My husband and I, both retired with no kids at home, made the recent pledge to ourselves to eat more often at the table than at the sofa. I bought new placemats to encourage and inspire us. These are very festive. These will look great on our wooden table with our all-white dishes. The overall effect will be casual and a bit boho. The material on these is very thick and feels very durable. I like that any spills will not be absorbed and can be quickly wiped off. So here's hoping that a well set table will indeed encourage us to use it!

Our old placemats in the Airstream would slide all over the formica table. Replaced those with some functional, but homely perforated rubber ones.
Theses placemats caught my eye. Don't think we'll accidentally cut through to the table when using paper plates, seem very easy to clean with a quick wipe.

We like these placemats. They're the kind that is made out of a neoprene sort of material -- a lot like a mouse pad.

These fit well with some other, slightly larger placemats, to give a little layered effect. It goes well with the decor of the kitchen table, and adds a little splash of color.

The top material is a waterproof vinyl sealed to the black base layer of the stuff that looks like neoprene which makes it easy to clean with a damp cloth. That's a big plus, since dropping a bit of spaghetti sauce on a cloth or linen placemat means dealing with a tough stain and at least being out of commission for the time it takes to get the stain out.
