Chinese embroidery has a long history since the Neolithic age, which can be traced back to about 5000–6000 years ago. During the Sui and Tang dynasties, only royalty could use embroidery products. Throughout the Yuan, Ming, and Qing Dynasties, embroidery continued to flourish, branching out from royalty into popular culture and developing into different styles and genres. Chinese handmade embroidery is famous for its exquisite skills and rich artistic expression, and is known as the "Pearl of Oriental Art". Chinese embroidery is an important intangible cultural heritage of mankind.
